This term refers to IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) settings for any Namecheap-hosted email address.
How it works:
Namecheap’s IMAP generally uses the PrivateEmail service. Here’s the setup:
- Server: mail.privateemail.com
- Port: 993 (SSL)
- Username: full email
- Password: your login password
You’ll need these if you want to connect your Namecheap email to a third-party app like Outlook or Thunderbird.
Tips:
- Use the SSL port (993)
- Make sure your domain has MX records pointing to PrivateEmail
Don’t confuse IMAP (incoming) with SMTP (outgoing)
